I had a beautiful time working with these talented musicians in my bass ensemble at the “Bavarian Bass Days”.
This international bass course held by Claus Freudenstein in Muhldorf, Germany had mor than 50 bass students this year and featured great teachers such as Dorin Marc, Claus Freudenstein,Emilio Yepes Martinez from the Munich Phil., Elisabeth Forster Büttner who worked with the young minibassists, Thomas Hille, Henning Sieverts Markus Setzer, Chia-Chen lin and Thomas Hartman.
it was a truly inspiring experience having 6 new students every day in a row that I never met before, each is a whole different player and person, in an other stage in his/her development. Some of them heard about me and wanted to look into Middle Eastern double bass playing, and some of them wanted to work on their repertoire with me. I enjoyed all lessons and the workshop, and the solo I played, and the daily work with the ensemble, that you can see some of the results here.
We are playing an arrangement of mine for “Uolahi ma Drit” by algerian artist Dahman el Harashi.
