One of the great experiences was on a trip with my “Ensemble Maktub” to the U.K., and conducting this workshop to the students of the Yehudi Menuhin school of music. It is always fascinating to see young musicians encounter Middle Eastern music for the first time, and especially really gifted and advanced ones like the ones we met there. It always surprisingly nice to see how naturally they connect to this music and find the musicality they can refer to in it right away.
